Day Six – Barcelona, Spain

Day 6

This was a full day in Barcelona. We started the day with a bike tour of Barcelona. We took the bikes to a church in Barcelona that was built to honour the sailers in town. It had parts of a ships hull in the foundation. It was a little distracting because there was a marching band passing by at the same time. Next stop was the port. They built an island off the port for tourists so that they could put in tourist activities that would not have to close on Sundays. So they could make more money.

Next stop was the beach – they only built the beach in 1992 for the Olympics – before that it was gross and space for squatters. Now it is a great, ace to relax and swim. Next stop was a look out where you could see the whole city. We interrupted a fashion shoot with our bikes but it was entertaining to watch. Next stop was an Olympic memorial where they named all the winners from 1992. Next stop was the some old roman ruins which are housed to be preserved and out last stop was a bike ride through a park that had a giant fountain in it.

After the bike rides we went to a hole in the wall bat that serves sparkling wine from the region. It was only filled with locals. So it was a neat stop. After lunch we had free time. I decided to go to Parc Güell. This is a park made by Gaudi. For this park, you pay if you want today in the buildings or toucan see outside the buildings for free. If you buy your ticket ahead of time it makes sense to go in otherwise walking around for free totally gives you. The gist. Also there are parrots in Spain. Who knew? Aldo they have delicious fruit Popsicles that are made from only fruit.

After the park I went back to our hotel to chill at the pool. They apparently put in a roof top pool 2 weeks ago. It was nice. That night we went to a flamenco dinner with all you can drink Sangria. The dancing was very passionate. We had 3 girl dancers and one male dancer.

The. We passed by the magic fountain before calling it an early night.
