Day Four – Bilbao to Pamplona, Spain

The four day of tour was an amazing day. I got up early and went for a run. After that we piled on the bus to head toward San Sebastián. San Sebastián is a town 20 minuets away from the France- Spain boarder. It is the holiday resort for the rich and famous. It has a lot of 5 star restaurants and shops. We drove into town and got dropped off just off the main drag.

I spent the day at the beach. Claire, the girl twins and Jess headed straight to the beach to get as much sun as possible. This beach was the most crowd eat beach I’ve ever seen. It also was a topless beach and a lot of women were opting into this option. The beach had a floating platform and a waterside. Beyond the beach there was a marina.

I hung out with Claire’s gang for a while then went out to find the Americans. The Americans were swimming and playing along the beach and drinking beers sold on the beach. When our four hours were up, we went got on the bus to continue on to Pamplona.

Pamplona is the coolest little town. It is where the bulls run. It’s also the small Spanish town u imagine with small twisting streets of apartment buildings. Apparently no one has houses in Spain.

We walked the route of the bull run about half way. The bull run started as a way to move bulls from the field to the arena. Then Ernest Hemingway who discovered Pamplona on assignment for a Toronto Newspaper, wrote a book about it. The book romanticized the festival and drew world wide attention. We saw the town hall building and the statue that fans jump off of.

After this we had a pub crawl. We went bar to bar getting drinks and tapas. Some were delicious others were iffy. In Pamplona no one eats in the bars they take their tapas and drinks into the streets and either sit I’m the ground or stand around and drink. There was a parade of bull fighters singing and drinking down the street. Once it turned 11 some of the bars moved their tables and turned on dance music. We danced the night away in Pamplona . After we ran though the street to the taxi rings to go back to the hotel. Adam fireman carried me all the way there.
